🔊 Clipped Gain Utility
The main reason I'm sharing this is because I believe it is essential, and while its not hard to create, it is something many folks do not understand when first getting into music production and editing. There are many different ways to do this, but I believe this to be the simplest and easiest.
This is comprised of 2 Ableton devices in total.
1. Utility
2. Glue Compressor
The dry/wet amount on the Glue Compressor is set to 0%, and Soft clip is enabled. The Soft Peak setting on the Glue Compressor fixes clipping issues, but the compressor is not actually being engaged.
The only macro knob is assigned to the Utility device's gain knob. Basically this is using Utility to boost signal, and the Soft Clip at the end of the chain make sure it stays clean.
This may be useful on individual tracks and Main/Master tracks as well.
If you have my Other Gain Utility devices, I would recommend using this instead most of the time.
I will be sorting and consolidating my tools to release a pack with more detail and instructions on the particular uses here soon.
Things like this (my ableton device chains/racks) will continue to be free. I am more interested in enabling others with simple tools than making a profit. If you do find these tools useful, please consider following me, sharing, and rating my products. Your support in this will help me get in front of a larger audience and be able to share my tools with more people. -Thank you!
