🔥 EQ Sweeps
This is intended to quickly carve out frequencies and trim unwanted frequencies.
This uses Ableton's stock plugin EQ8 to limit frequencies based on the input of the macro knobs. This can be added before and after all effects, but I would recommend putting this after my 🔥 Gain Utility, for best results.
Using this should help you in a couple ways.
• Quickly trim frequencies using macro knobs, and hear the difference in less time.
• Visually become more familiar with the wave display for your most used sounds & keys
This will speed up your productivity.
There are 3 presets included. "🔥 EQ Sweep" and "🔥 Hard EQ Sweep." are the focus. The "hard" version includes an EQ3, which is used to make the cuts more precise.
One limitation of the EQ3 is that is starts at 50 hz, so if you are working on a sub bass, you might want to keep some frequencies as low as 20 or 30. In this scenario, use RS-Met Tool Chain: Engineers filter instead. The VST plugin is free on their website http://www.rs-met.com/freebies.html
Once this is installed, you can use my included "🔥 RS-MET Engineers Filter 20-20" preset. Add is as a group before the EQ sweeps, and will hard cut outside of the 20hz-20hkz range.
Save the "🔥 RS-MET Engineers Filter 20-20" for the Bass and Master tracks only. The other presets should get you the rest of the way there.
Incorporate this into all your tracks, as necessary step for every project. Build that habit and you will hear the quality of your productions improve - drastically!
